Dwayne Johnson is every parent trying to figure out their kids' toys - SheKnows

The week between Christmas and New Year’s is a blur of holiday movie marathons, eating all those delicious baked goods and helping your kids unpack and assemble their new toys. The latter seems easy and fun – “Sure, I’ll help you build your LEGO set, honey!” – but can quickly devolve into survival of the fittest, requiring utmost concentration and patience to figure it out. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson can tell. He recently admitted that he sometimes feels like a “f*cking idiot” when it comes to his daughters’ toys, and it’s so real!

“It’s Christmas so I’m going to keep it 💯,” the Black Adam star wrote on Instagram. “I am an intellectual giant 🧠 the founder and builder of successful companies with my own two hands ✋🏾🤚🏾 and generally one big bad MF disrupting the world 🌍.”

Yes, all of these things are true. But also… “I’m also an 18k f*cking idiot when it comes to being able to build a @lego toy set for my 4 year old baby girl, Tiana Gia 😂🙋🏽‍♂️,” he wrote alongside a video of him and his daughter, which he shares with wife Lauren Hashian. In it, he tries (and fails!) to help her put together a new LEGO set she got for Christmas. To be fair, LEGOs are everywhere – on the floor, under wrapping paper, mixed in with other toys – so it’s easy to see why he’s struggling so much.

“Literally 40 minutes later and I’m already saying, ‘Baby daddy is going to make you French toast with all the whipped cream and syrup you want… doesn’t that sound AMAZING?!!!’ 🤣” The Rock, who is also the father of Jasmine, 7, with Hashian, and Simone Johnson, 21, with Dany Garcia, continued. Ah, bribery, a time-tested parenting tradition, especially at Christmas! I can certainly relate to trying distract my kids with something else when their toys turn out to be too difficult or too messy or require too much brain power to figure it out at the time If that doesn’t work you can always take them to another adult send for help!

“What about the finger I’m putting at the manual and random Lego pieces while plotting my PLAN B ☝🏾😂,” he added.

Correct. It is especially difficult to build with 4-year-olds, who want to do all the building themselves, but can do almost nothing without help. The things we do for our children!

“😂😂😂 love your authenticity!!! So true for the parental Lego building experience 😂😂😂😂 Merry Christmas!” one person wrote.

Many people responded with some expert tips. “First sort everything into colors. Helps so much 😂😅,” one person wrote. Another said to him, “Put them in bowls!”

But no matter how you help your kids with LEGOS, there’s one universal truth: you’re bound to step on it one day.

“LEGO, my God, hours of fun,” one wrote. “Then you like finding the missing pieces when you step on it at 2am on your way to the fridge.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”

Assembling your kids’ toys is one of the challenging parts of post-Christmas, but at least we’re all doing this together. If The Rock can admit he has problems with toys, so can we. You just need to channel and embrace your inner child – you can always tempt them with sugar if you need to!
